Google spent over a year developing Google Bard, an updated chatbot supported by a new A.I. tech called Gemini, which is designed to match OpenAI’s ChatGPT. It was released globally and will be incorporated into various products in the coming months. Dr. Hassabis and Mr. Pichai claimed Gemini outperformed GPT-4 in generating computer code and accurately summarizing news articles, among other things. Gemini is a large language model that can learn by analyzing large amounts of data. Clients can access Gemini Pro on December 13 through Google Cloud. Despite the race between Google and OpenAI, Mr. Pichai believes there is enough market space for all A.I. providers.
