Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, has been ousted by the company’s board of directors, according to a blog post on Friday. Mira Murati, the former chief technology officer, has been named interim CEO. The board cited Altman’s lack of transparency and communication as reasons for his departure. Greg Brockman, a co-founder of OpenAI, will step down as chairman but stay on as the company’s leader. OpenAI gained attention with the release of its chatbot ChatGPT last year.
